Is Bianca Belair’s hair real? The truth detailed
Bianca Belair is one of the most dominant wrestlers in the WWE. After spending four years in the NXT honing her craft, Belair was drafted to SmackDown, where she became the first African-American superstar since the Rock to win a Royal Rumble match.
Belair is a standout performer, combining skill, speed, and ring presence to obliterate her opponents. Forgetting Bianca’s name is difficult, but even if you do, you’ll remember her signature braid, which she considers her secret weapon. Bianca’s braid has inflicted pain on several opponents, including Ruby Riott, the first wrestler to feel the sting of Bianca’s hair.
Bianca’s long hair is likely a combination of extensions and her natural hair
Bianca likely combines extensions and real hair to create her iconic braid. Belair’s Instagram page contains photos of her in short hair, fueling suspicions that Bianca’s braid has hair extensions.
She told the Miami Herald that preparing the braid takes considerable effort: “It’s pretty long. It almost touches, I would say it’s between my ankle and my knee, so somewhere mid-calf, so that’s the length of my hair. It’s pretty long. Preparing the hair for every match is a task. I’m not even going to lie about that. It’s a task.”
Belair came up with the braided look but wasn’t convinced it would work in the ring. Her husband, Montez Ford, persuaded her to keep it as it would make her stand out. Bianca said on Booker T’s Hall of Fame podcast:
“He told me, ‘No, you have to wear that because that makes you stand out.’ So that was the first time I learned the lesson of ‘this whole thing is about unique and standing out and being different.’”
“If somebody comes to the show, and they don’t remember the name the first time they see you, but they will say, ‘Hey! That was the girl with the braid.’”
Belair’s coach Sara Amato motivated Bianca to use the braid during matches. During the fight against Ruby Riott, Bianca surprised everyone, including herself and Ruby, when she hit her with the braid. “It made this huge noise,” Bianca told Sportskeeda. She continued:
“We both just paused and looked at each other. We had no idea what was happening. The crowd was going crazy. It was just ‘it’ from there. I realized it can be used to my advantage and it can be used as a weapon. And now, I’m stuck with this braid. I’m kinda stuck with it. And I love it.”
